For the cover page, I wanted you to get a feel for the site by having fashion runway models in a black and white gradient due to the name of the site, "Fashion through the Ages," giving modern fashion an old-fashioned gray color scheme.

The fashion industry is experiencing a breakdown as traditional norms and trends give way to individuality and inclusivity.  So I decided to play around with the picture.

For this assignment, we were asked to create a five-section website that depicts the history, process, and/or story of a selected topic. The page should've enticed its audience with a captivating hero section, then navigated the reader through highlighted sections until the narrative came to an end in the final section. We were asked to create the design and prototype in Figma.

I decided to choose fashion as my main focus because fashion is a dynamic and ever-changing industry, with new trends and styles emerging every season. It's a platform for self-expression and a reflection of our culture, politics, and social values. Through my website, I hope to explore the fascinating world of fashion, highlight emerging designers and trends, and spark conversations about the role of fashion in our lives.

A quick breakdown of what fashion is as well as what it means for designers and everyone else that takes part in the industry.

With each passing season, designers push boundaries and experiment with new ideas, ensuring that fashion remains a dynamic and ever-changing force in our lives. So I decided to give an in-depth look into the recent years of fashion and what's been trending.

I wanted to explore the ways in which fashion has evolved and adapted over time. Each century has its own unique styles, materials, and influences, reflecting the broader cultural, political, and economic trends of the era.

The single-scroll format we were told to use for this website allowed me to tell a cohesive story about the evolution of fashion through the ages, with each section building upon the previous one. Overall, I wanted to create a visually engaging and user-friendly website that would capture the attention of fashion enthusiasts and casual readers alike.

The color palette plays a big role in this site due to it being about fashion. Should I make it flashy? Super bright? But I decided to give it a calm, simple color palette, giving it a very modern feeling without being too hard on the eyes. giving a smooth transition through the site.
The main typeface for the logo, I feel, does a great job of getting the point across that fashion is ever-changing and moving, and the font does a great job of carrying that theme forward.
